vibrations felt after putting on a wheel

A couple of weeks ago I adjusted my parking brakes at the rotors. The next morning, during the first 2 miles, I had a weird sensation. The car was shaking a bit at 45mph and didn't feel right. This went away and didn't come back.

The next day, I realized that I had tightened the lug nuts too tight, so I loosened each of them 1 by 1 and torque them to around 80ftlbs.

The next time I drove, I had the same thing happen again, and it stopped on its own and hasn't returned for 2 weeks.

I'm convinced the vibration or whatever is due to the wheels now.

I was wondering, does the hub/rotor "seat" itself with the wheel anytime the lug nuts are adjusted or removed and reinstalled?

I can't say I've ever experienced this with another car. I have the oem 17" wheels.

With the oem wheels you have a hubcentric and a lug-centric mount, so you have two things centering the wheel which is certainly better than just one. Wouldn't hurt to have your wheels rebalanced, just being slightly off over time can cause what you experienced.
