Tein S tech + Rear Camber installation
Tein S tech + Rear Camber installation
Hello all. I have an 08 VR G37 coupe and been on these forums for a while but have not really introduced myself. I am from the Metro-Detroit Michigan area and do not know of any reputable shops to take my car to.
I ordered my S tech springs with a rear camber kit and I have a couple questions. I am currently on stock wheels and 225 tires all around. I plan on getting 255/30/20 all around, 20x10 +15 Front 20x10.5 +15 Rear. Would there be any affect if I install my springs and Rear camber kit now with stocks on? Would I run into any problems when I get my wheels and tires? Should I just wait until I get my wheels and tires? Also, should I get an alignment on the same day i install the springs or wait a certain amount of time? What should I pay for this installation? 2 shops so far told me $500-800 so far. Thank you guys very much! I know this is a lot of questions! Sorry and thanks!

This is why one should research when looking at suspension. A coilover cost 900-1200 bucks but the install is basically DIY. THe springs are a hassle. My advice is sell the s-techs and buy coilover. Look at tanabe around 900 bucks. Install yourself and and pay for a proper alignment. Best of luck.
^^ That's a pretty good answer.
Most people who get springs seem to find their way eventually to coilovers. To answer OP's questions:
Personally, I would wait until you have your "final" setup before you start assembling things. You can definitely DIY a spring and camber kit install if you've got a little bit of room in your garage. Yes, I strongly recommend getting an alignment as soon as possible after installing ANY suspension mods. There's no reason why you can't install the suspension stuff with your stockies, get it aligned, then install new wheels, and get them aligned again. I don't know what kind of timetable you're on, so the only downside there is you'll have to pay for two alignments.
Shop work cost varies from area to area, so it's hard to quote you on that. Definitely go to a shop that specializes in suspension work though.

Also OP, you'll want 255/35/20s to keep your diameter within a reasonable range from your OEM diameter, the 30 series will be around 3% difference whereas the 35 series will be around 1% off.
