g37X COUPE STAGGER SOLUTION FOUND
To those who worry about stagger there g37x I found a really good solution and worry free you can sleep at night knowing is safe. I spoke with my infinti mech about how I wanted to do stagger setup he told me the best way to do is safely is to unplug the awd wire under the bottom of your car. This will not cause any damage or change the way the car drive. He said when you put your winter tires back on just plug it in. The only problem with this is your awd light will show up on the dash board. I dont mind it i can live with that know is safe and it wont damage my awd in the long run and infiniti gave me the green light to do so. Good luck everyone

Yes my mechanic infiniti did it for me such a easy step lift up the car and there a wire close to the tranmission area unplug it and the awd light will show up on your vechile dash board. Yes I was told nothing change expection the power wont be going to the front wheel. This is the safes way doing the stagger setup on g37x.

What i meant was if you were to REGAIN some horsepower loss due to the awd being deactivated...isnt there some parasitic loss due to the awd platform compared to rwd?
^^Good point. I would assume that if power doesn't need to be transfer to all four wheels then there should be power "regained" to the rear wheels. OP, can you take a pic of said AWD wire? So what exactly does this do? Turn our AWD into RWD?
Sounds like it disengages the AWD, if so, it doesn't really solve the staggered rim issue unless you're planning on leaving it RWD forever. There's been plenty of staggered AWD setups that haven't had any issues as long as you order all tires w/ very similar diameters to each other and to the oem size. I guess it's an option for those that have unfortunately ended up w/ a combo that's not compatible w/ the AWD.

Yes for me it does rwd in the summer and awd during winter. Cuz im from montreal is the law we need winter tires. So summer i put on my 20" stagger unplug the awd wire and then winter put back my stock winter tires and plug it back in very simple.
Even though plp on the forum says they dont have any issues im not gonna belieave everything they says. Who knows something might break down in the long run. Anyone with a computer and acess to a computer can write up fourms so i rather trust my infiniti dealer.
im going to check into this, but should everything work out, ill wire up a cabin switch to turn it on and off so I don't have to get under the car every time. I never will deviate from my 255's on all 4 corners it would just be nice in the summer when I don't have to worry about grip

That said, if you do keep your staggered diameters within a very tight range from OEM diameter there really shouldn't be an issue, as different treadwear front to rear and different tire inflation would also fall into that range w/ your oem tire setup. But for those pushing that range I could very well see some problems.

Very cool to know, thanks man! Makes me interested in going with a more aggressive setup on my x coupe. If you or anyone has a picture or 2 of the wire to unplug that'd be great. I know all it is, is finding it and unplugging it, pictures definitely give others a peace of mind knowing they have the right one. Atleast for me they do!
