Just make sure that the dealer will cover any consequential damages. I called my dealership in Kirkland and they claim that it will void your warranty.

Yes, pics please!

Any more detail on where to find this wire? I've read some talk about disabling AWD by unplugging a fuse, but never seen any specifics. I'd like to know exactly where to find this wire.

I dont have a pic but is under the car close to the transmission it look like a plug and play wire. Is a white plug bring it to you dealer when you do oil change or tires change and ask them about it they will do it for free ..

Or you can order the wheels and have two different disk and offsets to make the look. the front and rear of this G37x AWD Sedan is 20x10" square with a more aggressive offset and bigger lip in the rear.

^^agreed! My X coupe needs a more aggressive wheel setup I think, and I have no idea what to go with.

Im a infinity certified Bodyman and painter. I use to be the paint shop manager and body shop foreman at a infinity dealer in tampa before I moved to TN. I called my good friend who is the head mechanic at the dealer. He confirmed that as long as they are within 3% of your original rolling diameter and within 3% of each other its ok. Thats how the audi R8 and a few other awd sports cars are. And no you do not regain any power lost from the AWD setup if anything your worse off as far as power goes because of the added weight vs a rwd coupe. This is coming from a Nissan/Infinity tech with ASE master certifications. In fact infinity cant even argue about issues they think might cause problems as long as you are within that 3%. However if you seem like your unsure some shaddy dealerships might play off of that. hope this helps. Us X coupe owners have enough issues to worry about when modding.

no im not in the memphis area but I am the painter at a good shop in bristol tn. I am very meticulous and **** of my work. I will be glad to help you out with whatever you need. As far as tire size goes Go with 245/35/20 fronts and 285/30/20 rears keeps you under 1% overal diameter.

From: Framingham Ma,
Plus for the above! Exactly what I did on my X Coupe
225(8.5) fronts and 255(9.5) rears, never had any issues

This was done on the 03-06 G sedans with a fuse. There is a how to for 07-08 sedans at g35driver. I mention this because there is a key peice of info left out here.

Do not unplug while the car is on. Only hit your toggle switch or whatever you improvise when the car is completly off. I have heard that you can cause problems while the car is on. I like the idea too but have not had a reason to do it.

I'd be careful with this. While unplugging the harness will stop power from going to the AWD diff/clutch, the driveshaft and transmission will still be turning at different speeds which will heat stuff up. I did it in my 05, but by putting a switch inline with the fuse. It will work to put it to RWD mode (but will net you very little of the power back because its still turning the chain and half of the clutch system), but I think you can still damage stuff by running much different offset tires.
