More caster

Hello everyone

Anyone have experience with adding additional caster through front control arms that offer that adjustment (SPL's or Eibach)?

Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm interested to know if it improved handling (especially on the track!) and if it actually had a negative effect (too numb, etc).

Thanks!

Caster is for stability, not handling.

More positive will just make it harder to steer, thats all.

Imagine a chopper's forks.

Why would you want more caster?

Do you mean camber? Positive caster will result in more steering effort and steering feel.

Caster changes can affect handling if it's too much or too little. Negative caster is unstable like a shopping cart front wheel. Positive caster provides stability but means it takes longer for steering to have effect.

The other way caster changes handling is if it doesn't exactly match left to right. This would NOT be a good change unless you're oval track racing.

Higher levels of positive caster translate to additional negative dynamic camber when your wheels turn. In the past I've felt a slight difference in effort required to turn the wheel, but its not that big a deal.

Most of this carries over from my Subaru days, with vendors like Whiteline being a big proponent of positive caster gains.

I'm wondering if anyone has actually used these camber arms to increase caster, and what your impressions might be...? I've ordered the SPC's to correct for a lack of camber adjustability after installing KW V3's, and so I'll follow up with some impressions (especially if I can squeeze in a track day after installing!)

Thanks!
