Caster on suspension

What does The caster do on the front suspension. What does it actually do in terms of turning, Within the factory specs is it better to be higher number or lower. Will post my specs when I get home.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I am lowered on Eibach Pro Kits with Updated front SPC Camber Arm & Rear Camber and Toe Arm Kit. Here's my Specs.
As you can see one side is +0.50 more than the other. The steering wheel feels way more responsive in turning and returning back to original position versus turning to the other where I need to put a little more effort in brining wheel straight. Also steering feels a little touchy when turning wheel slightly left and right as if there is NO play...

Stock Spec Sheet

Question is should both casters be equal? and if so would steering be best at 4.08 degrees or more towards 5.58 for better handling & steering response?

higher gives you more camber when your wheel is turned a lot, but also increases steering effort.

it is if you have the SPC Front Camber Kit.

I have my Caster set one notch more negative than 0 deg. Can't remember if that is -0.25 or -0.5 but it's towards the driver or back of the car.

This decreases steering effort.

Caster helps in bringing the steering wheel back to the middle position when you're coming out of a turn

Damn! Did you realize that nominal spec is +4.83 degrees???!!! (range is 4.08 to 5.58) Why so much negative caster dialed in?

like i said, it's one notch different from dead even. so it's actually just barely out of the range on the 5.58 side. so probably either 5.75 or 6.0

something like that.

Max caster is desirable for optimal handling. If you have uneven caster, you may feel the car pull to the side with less caster.
