19's or 20's on AWD?

I need some opinions here.. I'm looking at buying some Vossen CV3's for my 2009 X coupe. I'm up in the air between 19" or 20" (although leaning more towards the 20's).

I'd like to go staggered but am planning to go with a squared set up as I think it'd be more practical for me.

What size would you recommend considering these are going on an AWD? 19x8.5 or 20x9 and what tire size would work best with each wheel size? Also, how much of a drop would I really need to get rid of any gap? I don't want to slam it to the ground all crazy but feel I'd need to drop it somewhat...

I'm pretty new to all of this... thanks ahead for any input.

I'm on 20's with an Eibach PK drop and 245/35 all around. Take a look, it's super functional

Ill be putting them on as soon as I can get them shipped here. There's an authorized dealer in my area I'm going to check with tomorrow... I've switched my mind and decided on the VVS084's which I initially wanted to go with.

19's will ride a bit better and offer more protection against damage, 20's look a bit better and will have some crisper response. 245/35-20 is the most popular fitment.
