That's a good question. I ordered 4 of the smaller bolts, and 2 of the longer ones, according to the diagram. They sent me those 6, but they also sent a bag with 6 of the smaller bolts in it. And no flange nuts to match.

So... IDK what to make of all that. Still need to buy 2 flange nuts.

Ordered them through NewAutoParts.com. Searching on part numbers, it was the best price I could find at the time, all told $96 shipped.

[edit]

Car was on the lift this morning, for my new exhaust. While there, we test-fit the Vert Cradle Braces, and it sure looks like a green light for these things. That said, I'm still going to wait until next month, so I can get some seat-time with the summer tires before introducing a change to the chassis.

It seems the frame bolt hole is threaded (fine, not coarse), which makes sense because there's no way to access the back-side. So no flange-nut needed there. That means the only place you need to get (2) nuts for are for the new bolt on the engine cradle.

No, the braces are still on the floor at my feet, as I type. I was waiting on some additional (unrelated) hardware for my new exhaust. And I'm just forcing myself to chill further into the calendar, so that the wife doesn't feel like I'm obsessing over car mods.

Sorry. Got the parts, just need to get the car up on the lift.

Update: the Vert Cradle Braces were a direct bolt-on for the Sedan. Zero issues, perfect fitment. Torqued to spec.

Hardware needed in total:
  • Two of the longer bolts, with matching serrated flange nuts.
  • Two of the shorter bolts, no nuts.

Would you be so kind to list all the part numbers needed to do this mod? Any initial impressions?

ModMe did that for you right in the top post.

Initial impressions... some very minor increase in road feel through the floorboards. That's it so far. I also did a small mod to my rear suspension, so I'm only gradually going to driving the car harder over the next few weeks. Maybe not until I get it re-aligned; (which BTW has nothing to do with this mod. No alignment necessary.)

So I don't really have any driving impressions at this time. Sorry.

I think the important thing here is the proof positive that Vert Cradle Braces fit properly on the RWD Sedan.

@Rochester, do you have any plans to also do the rear bracing? Nismo dampers?

From Modme's OP, it seems to require welding in a bracket on the coupe. However, that attachment point is already raised to a lower point similar to that bracket on the sedan (It's where the spare tire well is.)

If so it'd be great to see where that fitment comes and if it's more straightforward to implement the chassis damper in the sedan.

I also recently found out that there's a chassis damper in the cabin near the shockmounts in the G37 'vert. Might be worth retrofitting that (maybe in lieu of the nismo rear damper)

Thoughts, anybody?

I'm getting ready to do this MOD and was wondering if any of you that have already done this, remember what the length of the bolts were???

081B7-0455M x2 bolts (M10-1.25 x ??????)
11298-CA015 x2 bolts (M10-1.25 x ??????)

Thanks!

Never mind, well as far as I'm concerned.
The front lower OEM braces will not fit a X due to the X already having an even larger one piece brace that already connects the outer points on both sides. So now I've got a used set of them that bead blasted an painted black. I should have looked before I bought.

ThePope - What part numbers did you order? Did you get them in yet?

Check out this thread with some additional information about bracing (starting at post #62):

I got the Convertibles OEM front braces, but I can't use them. I have an X, which already has a much stronger brace.

What makes you think the design for the AWD is stronger than the Vert?

The X has a one piece brace instead of the two piece setup of the convertible.

Basically it's the convertibles braces with additional material welded to them to make them one.

Go on Ebay and search for 37x front lower brace, you'll find images of it.
