Need advise on powder coating / plasti dip

What should I do? I want to get my rims powder coated BUT I only have one vehicle and one set of rims. I cannot give up a vehicle for 3 or 4 days. Called up some shops and I have to take the tires off too (I had no idea)!

I was wondering what most people do in this situation?
Should I just plasti dip them (would like to do it myself but not sure if I'll be happy with my work) or get my rims spray painted? I would like to try plasti dip but worried about durability.

Any help is much appreciated.

Also check photo of my spare that totally convinced me I must have black rims! Nicest spare I've ever seen.

I've done my rims that way. Make sure you put 2 layers of clear coat afterwards. Mine lasted about 4-5 months (winter) before it started to fade. By the way this method won't give that nice glossy finish of the spare, but if you don't like it, you can always pull it right off the wheels. Here are some pics to give you ideas! Sorry its from an iphone...

Wow, this plasti dip stuff is pretty amazing! Decided to try it out on my rear emblems before I took on a bigger project of doing the wheels. Check it out.

Absolutely. I had mine for over a year without issue. Even survived an accident (everything was scuffed up except the grille, go fig.)

Quick ‘n Easy Black Grille

For the new grille, i went with a light black chrome effect.

OP all you need is a deck of cards, some plasti dip and a prayer.
