Hotchkis Sway Bar Set
Hotchkis Sway Bar Set
After advise from members of this forum, i have finally bought myself the Hotchkis sway bar set (MY FIRST MOD) on my G37 Non-S. It finally arrived yesterday and i went straight to a friend who installed it for me.
After installation, i went for the medium setting and went for a test drive. I definately feel the effect but not as much as i expected on some areas. Body roll is definately reduced but not as much as i would like. So too was the steering response. Cornering improvement and car stability did match my expectation though. I can corner faster...accelerate earlier at exit points on corners compared to before. On highspeed corners..i can maintain the car at higher average speed than before. I guess the best part of the mod is..i can feel the tyres...and know somewhat approximately when & where i am at using its grip limit before it began drifting..
Overall im happy with this mod and would recommend it. There is only ONE BIG problem with this mod. it left me wanting MORE..
so i definately will order those Tein Comfort Sport coils now..
.
NOTE: I probably want to try the stiffest setting next..maybe then it will meet my expectation abit...haha

Going to the stiffest rear setting isn't going to give the car any more lateral stability in corners. It's going to make the rear suspension stiffer in relation to the front and induce more oversteer.

Yes..the steering feels tighter compared to before which is a positive improvement for me...but no soo much..hoping the coils would solve that..
$465 include shipping to my place..
Also, i notice hotchkis don't provide any emblem or stickers...
Black Betty mentioned this on his DIY:
You need to adjust the rear brackets in relation to the setting position, so the the links are perpendicular to the ground.
Trust me, it makes a big difference.
Looks like you are on the farthest hole, slide the bracket away from the link.
To the OP, unless you're running F1 tires, a little body roll is fine.
Congrats on the upgrade. Keep playing around with the settings to dial it in to what you like best.
Damn DJ, driving aroun MA is sure making interesting colors on your underside. Nice Hotchkis though! Hopefully the finish on them holds up for a while. Definitely adjust those rear brackets as previously mentioned.
