40+ offset
40+ offset
so i just bought some new wheels, i currently have the 19'' enkei, the offset is +43(front) +45(rear) the new ones are 40+ all around, i am simple and have no idea what this means, do i need spacers will this look ridiculous please help
Sorry if you already know all of this.
It'll be tucked if you are lowered of course. Depending on how far you are lowered will determine how tucked it will be. The lower you go the more the top of the wheels fold inwards to the center of the vehicle (negative camber).
If you are asking what offset is. It refers to the location of the mounting area. If you think logically, the width of the wheel will also affect how far a wheel is pushed out. a 9 inch wheel compared to a 8 inch wheel with the same offset will poke out further than an 8 inch.
Looking ridiculous is all about your own opinion, but I think +40s are way too tucked when lowered.
On a conservative drop +25 in the front +35 in the rear is a conservative and close to flush look. That is with a 9 inch front wheel and a 10.5 inch rear. You can calculate what that comes out to in the size wheels you are looking at. There are offset calculators online that you can search and use. I am happy with my 20x9 +18 front and 20x10.5 +30 rear. You need to modify the wheel well in the rear in order not to rub when hitting bumps though.
Edit:Judging by your profile picture, you are not dropped. I don't mean to offend but... If you can put up with the car looking like it's on stilts, you will be able to deal with those offsets.
PS: Just got back from Balad in January. Where are you?

Wow, your wheels/drop look perfect to me. May I have the complete wheel specs front and back, and by how much did you drop your car?
You will be conservatively flush at stock height. When you lower on the Eibachs you will be tucked some. If I were you, I would wait until I was either home or about to be home before ordering the wheels. Look at all of the rides you can before making a final decision.
Where do you work?
Where do you work?

19x8.5 +35 w/ 255/40/19's all around on BC CO's dropped about the same as Eibach's (don't have exact figures on hand, but it's minimal that toe is within spec, and just a little out of spec on camber with no unusual tire wear).
i work on the west side, NAVY. the deployment is over i am bored out of my mind, waiting to leave, so in my bordem i purchased a bunch of stuff for the car, thanks for the info man. im just anxious and my car just sits and waits in a garage i have not even drove it yet, bought it back in dec
