I'm sure this question has been asked to death so I apologize for not using the search function. I can never find anything on search.

Ok, I'm looking to upgrade to Vossen rims (83) and wanted to know are there anything I need to look out for before buying these baby. I have an 08 G37S with sport supension. I know I will be sticking with staggered setup. The question I have is will I need to lower my car? If so, what would you recommend? Do I need a camber kit? Will there be any rubbing issues? Anything else I left off.

You don't have to lower, but you'll want to or else it will look funny. The most popular option for lowering is springs (Eibach Pro is the most popular one). However, you can also go with adjustable coilovers (KW Variant 3 is the most popular), but it has a hefty price tag. Depending on how much you lower depends if you will need a camber kit. I would highly recommend one as it will save you money in the long run even if your camber is only slightly affected.

Unless you slam it, you shouldn't have rubbing issues.

You might want to PM and ask those guys rolling on the Vossens. There's quite e few of them here. IDK how wide the rear wheels will be with their staggered fitments.

I have 20x10.5" +37 rear wheels with 285/30/20 Yokohama S.Drives and dropped with Eibachs. I do have the rubbing issues. They say it's much better with 275/35 tires but I dont like the stretched look.

 

I rubbed with 285/30-20. With 273/35-20, I don't and I'm slammed. The difference in the amount of stretch between the two is minimal. I've had both with Toyo T1Rs.

This might sound very basic but what is the ideal offset and bolt patterns for our car? How do I know if I need a camber kit?

 

The lower you go the harder it becomes for the mechanic to adjust your camber with just an alignment. With Eibachs, its common that you'd be good with just an alignment, any lower would require a camber kit just to be on the safe side.
