damn i guess you don't live in hot places... the tire will expand and psi will go up... and you could blow your tire with that much psi in it..

Now if only we could incoporate the Acura display into the G you could see exactly what pressure is in each tire... without going around to each of the tires to measure.

What about tires that aren't OEM replacements? I know it's up to the car manufacturer to decide what the psi should be but aren't they assuming you'll be using the stock tires all the time?

Not all tires are the same (i.e. some are stiffer, some are softer) so wouldn't you adjust the psi according to what tire you're using? That seems to make sense to me.

In all my years of driving (13+ years) I've never had any issue of tires blowing or anything and I've always filled it up 5-7 psi below the max on the tires. There was another thread on the forum where others were filling their tires at around the same psi as me. This is interesting indeed.

And yes, just because it's never happened to me doesn't mean it never will but I've been doing this for so long and for many different tire brands. Someone enlighten us haha.

Nan you won't have to worrie about the tire blowing even if you ahd it at max there is a safty factor in there. But ya after market tires it is up to you to see how the tire is waring and adjust according ly.

actually up here in michigan im gettin my tire pressure light like every week from the cold - filling the air again and again is getting annoying. I wish the G's showed the PSI on screen for each tire like with the Z!

Just remember that it should be 35psi COLD! I believe the manual says the low pressure light will come on at 28psi. If you overinflate/underinflate your tires you are not only wasting gas but you also wear your tires unevenly and risk blowing a tire.

Also, about a month after I bought my car my low pressure light came on. Of course, I kept airing it up but I thought it was just the difference in temperature that made the tires go low. However, it was only 1 tire and come to find out, I had ran over a screw somehow. I have never had this happen in all my life and of course it happens to my first brand new car. WTF? Anyways, I just took it to discount tire and they fixed it for $40. No problems since.

What! the Z has this and the G doesn't?

Did a quick search on the tire pressure question as I have tried higher pressure and did not like the feel.

Here is a quote from:http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/te...ide/index.html

"The one thing that is certain is that the maximum inflation pressure on the sidewall is not the right one to use."

Yeah isnt that lame the Z has it and G doesnt. With the G they want us to be helpless and in the dark about it like we cant figure out and pay with PSI on our own tires. We can't even narrow down to which tire it is unless its visibly low which usually isnt the case. so in freezing michigan weather i hafta get frostbit walking around the car and checking and filling EACH tire. LAME.

My wife has an 07TL-S and and it displays a nice diagram with pressures for each tire and highlights the one that is low so there is no guesswork. what I really like is being able to check the pressures when you are driving. I can't believe that Infiniti missed the boat on this. Her Acura voice commands also beat the hell out of the G.

I agree completely with goredcar. Acura beats Infiniti in several areas besides TPMS. My Acura allows me to program my nav. while driving. This feature alone will prevent me from replacing my RL with a M35/45 when the time comes. The voice recognition on the Acura is heads and shoulders above Infiniti. For example, I can adjust my climate control and change audio settings with the voice commands. The Acura has a calendar feature that can be programmed with appointments, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The Acura will calculate oil change intervals based on actual driving conditions (as some other cars also do) instead of just using mileage as Infiniti does.
I still like my G for its performance, but considering my G is 3 years newer than my RL, the newer car should have she same if not more technological features. The sad thing is is that these shortcomings could easily be corrected by some (inexpensive) software changes.

My favourite voice command is "find nearest Thai restuarant" or "max cool". I also miss the mirrors that tip down when backing up so that you can see the curb.

Still having said all that, the G37 is an incredible driving machine. Much more fun the Acura CL-S that I had... and there are ways around the Infiniti nav/phone/audio restrictions when moving. And, the 9G music box from Infiniti is great.

Given the direction that Acura is taking... less sporty, with the bigger, heavier and uglier cars like the TL it is unlikely that I will own another one.

INFINITI really f***ed up here! They have the 4 wheel tire pressure monitoring system in the M but I have no clue why they decided not to put it in the G! Ridiculous!
