quick question on wheel fitment

Seeing as I've blown all my money on exhaust, HFC's and a little stereo tweaking I don't have much to spend on wheels. I came accross a set I liked with these dimensions, and was told by the guy they would fit fine on my 08 g37. I'm not sure though. Rims are ADR Propulsion model.
Front equals 18x8.5 with 35mm offset
Rear equals 18x9.5 with 35mm offset
Now how can they have the same offset when they are an inch wider??? I'm only considering this because the guy will give them to me with 2 Dunlop sp sport 9000 tires size 255/45/18 for the rear (I can just use stock front tires) for under $700
Your thoughts please?!?!?!?

My car's black. Black on black has always looked sweet to me, but with the
G37 sitting in my driveway it's hard not to see it with silver rims ???? I dunno. I know I should wait, but having the sound system how I like it, and having ordered the first performance parts I wanted, it's kinda like having a cake with no frosting!!!

Uhhhgg 18's FTL! You got to go 19 or bigger or else I say save your money for a little longer until you can buy big boy wheels.

I hear you, I'm putting my foot down and waiting until I can afford nice looking rims that are regulation size Plus, I don't think I'm going black on black, something doesn't look right to me in the pics I've seen of the 37's with this color combo. Maybe some nice chrome 19's. Thanks for all the input
