Nitrogen in tires
Not sure if this is true but I was told by the guys at the tire shop where I had my nitro filled that Nitrogen also prevents oxidation to the inside of the rim. Not that its going to make a huge difference either way.
Aircraft tires, commercial and military, use nitrogen for the reasons given..temp, heat expansion and no water vapors.
I bought new tires for my truck at Costco a few months ago and noticed they put green air valve caps, the green caps mean the tires were filled with nitrogen.
