Shock/Strut recommendations

I have done some searching but not found the answer I was looking for, or maybe haven’t found the answer I wanted. Doing some simple mods to the car so far, may be all I do with the car, it’s decent stock considering the driving I do with it. It’s an 08 sports coupe with 75,000 miles. Was considering replacing/upgrading the struts/shocks. All I have seen are KYB and Koni, when I was working on cars more, KYB was considered an “economy” shock. Koni’s maybe seem a bit of overkill since the car suspension is stock other than the Z1 Motorsport’s 2 piece rotors. I always ran Bilstein’s on my Mustangs but don’t see them for the G. Thanks for any help!

The Sport Model RWDs all shipped with Tokicos to handle the higher spring rates. Unfortunately, those are no longer available through Infiniti and the OEM shocks/struts you can buy new are intended for the Journey. KYB took a similar path as they used to offer a separate product for the RWD Sport model, but they now only offer a single SKU for both Sport and Journey.

In addition to the adjustable Koni yellows (very pricey, but everyone agrees they perform spectacular), TEIN (Japanese company with manufacturing in Japan and China) offers the adjustable EnduraPro Plus which I have been checking out as TEIN has its US HQs in LA and I have called them a few times to discuss: https://www.z1motorsports.com/shock-...205.html?m=G37

Very little in the way of reviews are available for the TEINs, but it sounds like TEIN is looking to capture some of the US aftermarket share that Tokico used to own.

I’ll take a deeper dive into the Tein’s, sounds like they might do well considering what I use the car for and some of the roads here in lower mid-Michigan. Looks like it’s that or the Koni’s. Thanks!

48-165815 is the part number for Bilstein's for your car. I personally don't like the Koni's. I have them now in the front and I've had them on my Volvo S70. They don't ride that good. Tried 3 different Teins and they didn't last that long. I don't know if it's because I have the IPL springs though. If you wanna save $$$ then i hear KYB is good. Or you could just go oem again

Need a Venn diagram or some type of decision tree for purchasing Struts/Shocks on a G37.

OEM is not an option anymore for the RWD Sport model coupe or sedan. Infiniti just sells one OEM model for Journey and Sport model RWD (the two would destroy the factory handling as the Journey is entirely different handling wise).

KYB followed the same one size fits all path. Seems that there is slim pickings for AWD. I've seen others say 370Z struts/shocks work, then others say they do not.

I've read that the Konis are essentially racing shocks that will knock your fillings loose at settings 3-5. Pricey and their support is basically someone reading to you from the website.

TEIN has local support here in SoCal, so I thought I'd try them...

Yeah those are the coil overs for $2k. My driving these day’s wouldn’t take much advantage of coilovers. Would like to go with just struts and shocks.

I have MeisterR coil-overs on my car, they are promoted for the 370Z but fit my Sedan S just fine. I expect OE-style 370Z dampers would fit just fine, too.
