Hey guys, my 2012 has 82k miles on the stock suspension, and I've also thought about replacing it. Does anybody have any experience with these?

https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/?id=36825

It's listed for the Japanese models, but I'm thinking it should fit. The drop is 15mm front and 10mm rear. It's not coilovers but I would think the nismo engineers designed it to pair well with the v36 chassis.

Thunder and orange film. You?

My AGM battery weight savings was lost with the new woofer as I had no idea woofers were made that weigh so much.

Put my old amp/sub in my son's CRV. Wrt to the Fogs, selected Amber because I thought that it looked more OEM than yellow, and it also matched the "Fresh Copper" color I had originally selected for my calipers. I jacked one side up razoring off the little alignment tabs, so I need a redo.

My brake painting project derailed because the vendor that I had slated to do the work called the day prior and said his mom was rushed to the hospital, so we cancelled; haven't heard back and feel like it would be insensitive to ask about rescheduling. Had the color picked, new brake pads and center caps purchased, etc. Now I am back to exploring DIY, but in the meantime I detailed my existing calipers and they look brand new. My brakes are still at 4-5mm, so I can get at least another couple of months out of them.

I got nothing for the car.

Orange film? Over the fogs? That looks nice.

I've never heard of that coilover for the sedan before. A few thoughts:
  • Z1 and Concept Z show a Nismo coilover, but only list it for the Z and coupe.
  • They are cheaper than I would expect, cheaper than even OEM replacement options
  • They aren't adjustable, either damping or ride height
They could be an interesting option, but personally I'd want to be absolutely sure that they only drop the sedan 15mm/10mm and that the damping is acceptable for a daily driver.

It might be worth calling CZP or Z1 to get their thoughts, perhaps there is a reason they don't list the sedan for the Nismo coilovers

What is this fog light film you speak of?

I have Diode Dynamics LED fog bulbs currently, but other color options could be fun for future projects.

They said that the Yellow and Amber are the most popular colors, but I have to admit that the blue would look good with the right build.

Note that there is a coupon code for 20% off at the top. I needed to redo one of mine, so I called and they sent me a second set for 1/2 price. Good company. Located in northern GA if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty sure red & blue lights are reserved for emergency vehicles. At least they are in NY, so odds are its the same in CA.

Although if it were a light blue, the way some headlights can get, you could probably pass. IDK, just saying... blue will get you attention from traffic cops, and might fail your state inspection.

Very true. I am always cautious about changing the lights as their coloring normally had universal meaning and one attracts alot of attention when altering (was always paranoid with my G35's altered white side marker lights). Blue would also lean too far to the custom side for my taste.

One note on the sub install is that my car stereo guy stated that the trunk of the G37 is built well, which is why so much power is needed to feel any bass in the cabin. As such, the rear seat pass through has been renamed to "bass port". He also recommended removing the Bose sub in the tray to provide another path, but I like that the main Bose Studio on wheels setup is still intact, minus the addition of the subwoofer/amp/DSP.

Hats off to @OWC and his platinum subwoofer addition cable as I replaced the homemade one that was created prior to him building professional quality cables.

Has anyone considered the Nismo S-Tune suspension kit? Looks to lower the car about .4" front and .6" rear. Seems like the ultimate OEM+ replacement. It's a bit pricey but you don't have to replace the control arms or camber arms with such a subtle drop.

See posts 32 and 36 above. Someone else just asked about those same coilovers.

Seems info on them is limited, and personally I would hesitate without having some more concrete details. But, I am far from an expert on the topic. It would be interesting if someone installed them and reported back with details.

  • These are NOT "coilovers" and were never available in the US market. These are specific to the v36 rwd sedan.
  • The price is now skewed due to the extremely weak YEN.
  • Correct, this is true for all S-Tune products. They provide a close to stock ride with slightly lower ride height. Back in the day they were available in the US before for the z33, b15 sentra, L31 altima, etc. and people loved OEM+ setup. Again, if you want your car to be very low this is not the suspension for you.

Subscribed. I wonder if the shocks/struts can be purchased separately? Looks like these will only cost $0.63 on the dollar because as stated, the Yen is weak.

What's the difference between an S and SP?
https://www.nengun.com/oem/nissan/skyline-v36

Update: https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/...options-added/
  • S for sport you get paddle shift and better brakes
  • P for premium you get full leather
  • SP you get both
I guess "SP" is the correct choice for us V36 G37S owners.

That sounds accurate. $990 shipped to my door which in my eyes is a great deal for a "OE" type replacement with some improved performance.
