Brake Squeal and ITB11-050 for caliper pins

Hey gang,

Like many others, I've been bitten with the "slow reverse brake squeal." Actually, it's usually with cold brakes in reverse -- but had it the other day in forward pulling up in a drive-through -- so not first-thing-in-the-morning cold either.

Anyhow, I've done my due diligence looking in this forum and others for the best course of action. I don't do my own work, but go to a shop that specialized in Japanese imports. They're good (and affordable!), but have not been able to fix this problem either.

I've seen the same couple answers over and over again. However, I do see an ITB issued which has as a remedy replacing the front caliper pins -- and I haven't seen anyone in this forum comment on having replaced these pins and/or whether it has solved their problem.

Has anyone had any luck with brake squeal by replacing these pins? Seems a cheap thing to try. Then again, I really don't know how much labor would be required to access the part.

I appreciate your input!

Here's a link to the ITB: https://infinitig37.com/TSB/ITB11-050.pdf

I had this on the big brakes. I was really surprised with how quickly the pins corroded, thought I only lightly lubed them with basic brake grease when I installed them. I had extra hardware laying around so I replaced the pins and fixed the problem. I greased them extra well with thick silicon ceramic grease to keep them from getting pitted and sticking.
