Seeking help for strut replacement
Seeking help for strut replacement
Hi,
I own a 2010 G37X AWD couple. From this summer, the front passenger side strut starts making noises. An auto tech checked it out for me and the suggestion is to replace the strut assemblies on both sides.
I searched some economic replacement parts online and figure out there are lots of different models for G37 struts. From the descriptions, it's very hard to find the ones that exactly fit AWD couple.
I think AWD and RWD models should be different (from pictures, it seems that the AWD ones have extra mounting structures). But I do not know if the struts for AWD coupes and sedans are interchangeable.
Anyone has knowledge on this and can help me with it?
Thanks a lot.

I have an X sedan, and also want to replace my shocks/struts. I found the KYB website catalog very helpful. They valve the shocks differently for X coupe and X sedan. I called them as well. I’m going with the part numbers they gave me over the phone for X sedan
The coupe and sedan are interchangeable, so you could take this opportunity to increase damping rate a smidge with a coupe damper and get a sportier ride in you sedan.
And by the by, they are not struts, they're dampers. Moving this to the suspension forum.

KYB “dampers” are made stiffer/sportier to compensate for worn springs/suspension components. I am going to pair the X sedan “dampers” with Swift springs.
I actually just ordered Struts from KYB. I'm replacing my fronts & rears & pairing them with the Swift Springs as well. Here are the parts. These are for the 2015 Infiniti Q40 AWD:
