Anyone else have clearance problems with SPC camber arms?

With stock FUCAs I had no issues with suspension travel. Now with the SPC arms at the same front height (~26" FTG) I'm banging on big bumps. Really saps my confidence. I'm on Tein Basis Zs which are a hair soft so that doesn't help..... probably going to go back to stock arms as camber wasn't too bad but I wanted to know other people's experiences

I cannot personally speak to this (I have OEM camber arms) but I have heard about this being an issue with some other folks too.

I was at 25.75" on B&G springs (prior to my current coilovers) and never had any clearance issues, but mine aren't the most current SPC part #.

Just bang out the metal part of the wheel well with a heavy hammer. If you remove the strut and end link you can move the hub up and down to see where the upper arm is hitting.

No strut, that's the damper.

yes strut...but technically you can just disconnect the upper control arm from the top of the hub so you have full movement to push it up and down to see where it hits. Then mark it with a sharpie and bang it out a little with a metal hammer. make sure you are precise

taking the strut out will give you a lot more room to swing da hamma

What Bart is saying (and is correct on) is that these cars don't have struts. It's a shock or damper. Struts are themselves structural members of the suspension.

Another option is to replace the SPC arms with SPL. They don't use that lock nut above the ball joint.

I posted this pic recently in a thread with tein basis coilvers

I have tein basis coilovers 26.25 FTG
front & rear spc control arms & camber kits

that lil Mark is where the top nut part of control arm is hitting that metal - it sounds bad in the car when yr driving & it hits -

Took those pics when car was on lift for rear tires

front right & left side had them

there’s no damage to control arm - just that lil mark & that loud thud sound lol

happens more when I have whole family of 5 in the car & going fast over a small bump or weird part of road

my other buddy say they hammer a little like other guy said or they cut that part out

Slartibartfast I noticed some members tags spc rear & spl front controls

Maybe the hammer part would work??

Once I saw there was minimal damage & got use to that loud knock here & there
It has grown on me

But that first loud knock I heard scared me lol

The issue isn't the nut above the ball joint.... the ball joint on the adjustable kits is a lot taller than the OEM one. I am into the suggestion of the V35 OEM arm. I think my SPC arms are maxxed out for negative camber and are only at -2.2 or so. If the stock V35 arms are a little shorter and fit properly they'd be perfect.
