Cheap Coil Over lowering height????

So I am looking at coilovers for my other car and I am completely confused about the lowering height?

The seller put the front coil lower rates and rear spring rates at front:600-650mm;Rear:400-490mm

WTF thats like 25" isnt it?

Anyone have any insight hat does not include bashing cheap coilovers?

Here is the link to them below. I think these are the same as the Maxpeedingrods ones.

so it actually lists the spring rates....here it is from the listing. I asked the question to the seller but I'm sure I'll get nothing back.
  • Front Spring rate: 10 kg/mm; Rear Spring rate: 7 kg/mm
  • Adjustable height:Front:600-650mm;Rear:400-490mm

lol $280 shipped for a set of coils. You can't even get a set of quality SPRINGS at that price, let alone an entire coilover system. You are probably better off and safer cutting your springs.
Do it right, do it once. If you are only a budget, then go save up first.
Because if the struts break on you at highway speed, what out of outcome will you be expecting? Get some quality stuff yo

Probably not. Those aren't "cheap". Those are so inexpensive that I wouldn't recommend them to someone that i wanted dead.

There's no reason to go that cheap when Tein Basic Zs are $500 shipped. They're going to ride like ****, and then blow, and then you will have to spend even more money to replace them. Just do it right the first time.

^^^not looking to turn this thread into a debate. Just need the info if anyone has it.

BTW there are plenty of great reviews (initial and extended) of these exact coilovers and slight variation seen in MDU, pirate, topspeed, pro_1 etc....from members here and other forums.

Welcome to the site!

Sounds like you've heard of plenty of good reviews already, so it looks like you're sold.
Got links to all these reviews?

Not bashing you, but that price is crazy low, Tein Basis Zs don't have adjustable dampers but are only a couple hundred more for a known Japan-sourced brand. IMO something that's your direct link to the road is worth a bit more $$$, but hey, it's your ride.

These are the rebranded coils that sell under the name topspeed, pro1, mdu etc. They come OEM setup but can be made true coil setup for less stiff ride.

Google "mdu, pirate, topspeed G35/37" and there are more than 10 well documented reviews on initial setup and over 20k mile reviews.

My question is on the height these go. I know a few of the Texas crew run these slammed, but I don't think these can do that with just the height adjustment.

If a coilover is maxed out (lowered) would there be any way to go lower? ie: adjusting preload etc?

Exactly how low are you trying to go? I'm sure whatever coilovers you want to run will be able to lay frame. You can also swap in shorter springs. The question I want to ask is why but to each their own.

im trying to tuck the tires on 20's. Not all coils will do this and the tein basics will not. If you swap for shorter spring the struts will blow because they are made for whatever length spring they come with.

I've got Megan Street LPs and I'm at zero gap and they still have plenty of room to go down without compressing the springs. How much tuck are you wanting, about an inch up in the fender?

i don't think I can get an inch in the fender because I'm running 30's with some stretching. I have pretty aggressive offsets so in the end I want to run this setup (see pic). I'm on springs right now and top tucking, but I'd like to go another .5 or full inch lower.
