brake rotor/pad recommendations

Just got the wife a 2012 g37xs sedan. Wanting ideas on basic, good value pads and rotors. Just a daily driver, it will rarely be driven hard. Thanks in advance.

I replaced the front rotors and brakes (non-sport G37) with Centric Premium rotors and Posi Quiet ceramic pads about 2 weeks ago. Everything is working well, stopping power is good, and the brakes are quiet. I have also used this combination of rotors and pads in the past with good results.

Thanks for your recommendation nfs. One of my main concerns as well is getting the right size rotors. I'm reading that the xs is just a sport appearance package and not with sport brakes, that only the rwd sport actually has sport brakes. Any thoughts?

For my 2013 G37X sedan, I used the 320 MM front rotors. The rear rotors are 307MM.

I am not sure about the correct rotor size on the G37XS sedan. I'm sure someone else will chime in with the correct size for your model.

320/307MM should be correct. The "Sport Appearance" package on the X sedan did not get the larger sport brakes.

320/307 sedan journey and x or xs had standard brakes. If you don't have akebono calipers that's your size on a sedan.

+1 for the centric premiums from rockauto.com. for pads there are options, Akebono ProACT, posi-quiets, and on. OE fitment is ceramic.

I was looking yesterday to finalize my rotor purchase some my fronts are wrecked...rockauto didn't have the coated centric rotors anymore! Has anyone else looked in the past couple days? I also found them on Amazon but rock auto was a couple bucks cheaper (always Google for a 5% coupon)

I'm probably about to order this kit. like 200$ after shipping, like i said it's gonna be her daily driver and probably won't see much aggressive driving.

Never mind, decided to go with centric premium blanks since a lot of folks are vouching for them. Also getting their ceramic pads. 227$ after shipping, doesn't seem too bad.

Just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to the folks that gave advice. I went with centric oe rotors and their regular ceramic pads. They have a great bite, very similar to my R1/hawk combo on my tahoe .

Yes it was! I've never been a fan of rockauto, but after using them this time I am. They have SO many options for different pads and rotors, went with the daily driver section since it's her car that she's gonna be having the kids in. But will still have the bite there whenever needed, i.e. when I get a chance to take it for a spin haha.

I somehow scored Centri posi-quiet ceramics all around for $40 thanks to Amazon Warehouse Deals. Glad to hear you had a good experience with them, that makes me think I made the right decision for not only my wallet but my car as well haha
