LOL! Would that broadcast be a forum first?

Brad, I can't thank you enough for your continued assistance with beginning modifications of this X sedan. My initial ambition was to get a stance for an X sedan I could live with. Thanks to you, and others here, I've now achieved a setup I can begin to work from.

Okay, good newz!!!

I took Brad's recommendations and went for a target install of 26.75"

G/F height front now is 26.5/8" - even on both sides

G/F height rear now is 26.75"

I had a 40 minute hiway ride home from the shop. The best way I can describe the ride is driving a moderately, and welcomed, stiff sport type suspension. Ride quality is firm, with greater control than OEM. I'd anticipated a rougher ride, but 24 hours later, no. Going over bumps, I don't experience any pre bump apprehension as I did with the initial install. In relation to OEM, the ride comfort feels closer to stock than I anticipated.

Better yet, now there's NO noise from the rear.

An update on that former noise note: I discovered that the shop that did the initial c/o install did not set up the rear coilover's correctly. The shop failed to torque down a nut at the top of the XR1 c/o's that, per Stance, required a 35 pd torquing. This failure to do so led to an upper rubber/metal bearing around the shock shaft pinging against the shaft over every bump.

I was fortunate to find a more legitimate shop that quoted me a flat rate install. The tech in this new shop doing the break down of the rear c/o's to install the proper 10.3" rear dampers worked for years as a Mercedes shop tech. He spent 9 hours on the install of the rear SPC arms and toe bolts, c/o install, road test, and ride height adjustment.

I've drawn the front camber kit must have card. I'll consider going a bit lower once the front camber kit gets installed.

Initial after c/o install alignment specs for rear camber were L/ -3.1D R/-3.3D

Here's yesterday's alignment - rear camber spec is now L/ -1.0D R/ -0.9D

Wow! That looks awesome, I'm probably going to use the same G/F measurements. My coilovers should be going on the car on May 21st. Definitely report back on the ride quality over the next couple of days.

I'm also glad that everything worked out for you in the end. How much did the shop charge?

Nice ride! Looking great there Coltrane1!

Will you be upgrading the sway bars as well? I recently got the Hotchkis sway bars installed and it is a world of difference.

I have the xS like you (Same color too), but mine is a coupe. Going to get C/O installed in June and I can't wait.

Thanks for sharing your build!

So glad you found a shop that knows their stuff and took the time to do it right. Looks like your height is well balanced and set where you can live with it on a daily basis.

The front arms are pretty straightforward, the caster is adjustable w/ them and I have mine a bit higher than spec and I prefer it that way as it tracks real well, a bit more effort to steer it off center but no worries of wander and never had an tramlining for about 70k miles now.

Thanks Z! It's a rarely driven car so I'll let it, and my wallet, settle a bit before having another go at it. The car won't be driven in the snow we occasionally get around here, so I've some height adjustment room to play with.

Total install fees including SPC rear kit and toebolt's, and 2 separate alignments were $981. Stance and the shop contributed $300 towards my original $681 install, and I'm out $300 for an additional alignment, reassembly of the rear c/o's, and their install. But at the end of the day I'm happy to pay that $300 because I'm more confident of the work completed by the 2nd shop.

I can't wait to see your KAD in its lowered glory bathed in those new wheels!

Thank you! I upgraded the RSB via a 370Z which had been removed after 7k miles. $70 delivered via ebay. At this point, given the thicker AWD front sway, I don't feel a need to go any further with sways. Compared to a stock X, the car feels tight.

Congrat's on your coupe build! I'm a low offset freak, so I envy your option to go to an 11" wheel with a low offset if you choose.

Thank you! Having owned a G35X since 2008, now with 121k, driving this lowered G37X seems a world away from the car I've driven the past 9 years.

If I could find a smokey Anniversary set perhaps. I'm leaning toward the darker wheel set as the chrome is on my list to go

Sorry to bump this thread up but i have the set as well and was hoping to install them this week. Reading over everything, i have the G35X and wanted to know if i would have the same issue with the rear not being adjustable. Since the G35x chassis is a bit different then the G37x, would my 8.75" dampers be fine for me? Don't wan't to go for the install and find out i also need the longer dampers. Thanks.

P.S. Spoke to Stance customer service and were ready to replace my dampers. Would it be a bad idea to get longer dampers for my G35x?

if Stance is willing to swap yours out I see no disadvantage for having the longer damper. What did Stance say, they're the experts?

Just replied and said the Chassis is actually the same so it will still be a problem. Gonna send out my dampers but not sure how to separate them from the adjustment part of the strut, how did you remove yours?
