Brake Upgrade

Whats up guys,
I was looking to upgrade my brakes from the stock non-sport X brakes, except I'm on a somewhat tight budget. I was wondering if its possible to get the Akebono calipers and bigger rotors for the front, and just take the stock 2 pot brakes currently on the car and move them to the back? I feel like this would offer a decent upgrade in stopping power without being too expensive. Thoughts?

I seriously doubt this is viable without adding an additional proportioning valve assuming the bolt pattern is identical and the caliper mount places the caliper in the same position side-to-side. Are the front and rear discs even the same diameter?

If you are on a tight budget and want better stopping power, get better pads.
As far as I know, there is no way to fit the front calipers on the rear rotors.

You'll spend much more trying to retrofit those calipers and then you"ll still have a funky hybrid setup that might make your car hard to resell. Just put money aside and keep your eyes out for a used set of Akebono calipers on ebay or check wrecking yards. Here's a thread on getting the most bang for your buck to source them new.

Yeah what he said ^^^.. Grab some pads, then rotors, then stainless lines, in that order.. Should've gotten the S model bud.

Thanks for the help guys, I can get a pair of front calipers for about $400, so for now I think I'll just get the fronts with some new rotors and pads, and do a pad and rotor upgrade for the rear
