2012 G37x dropped on Swifts last weekend, gave them a weekish to settle. Went to get aligned today and this is what they gave me...

Was surprised at how bad the rear camber is considering everything i've heard about Swifts says that you shouldn't need toe bolts...

 

That camber won't hurt your tires much as long as toe is near zero. I have mine set at -2º on stock suspension with 5 mm total toe. I'm going to have to find the conversions to go between mm and inches and degrees. All three seem to be used. Well, mm and inches is easy, it's the degrees that I need help with. I hope I don't have to deal in radians...

My 5 mm = 5/25.4*16 = a hair over 3/16" total toe. It was 3/8" from the dealer.

Sweet! For 17" wheels, your .41 degrees = a touch over 3 mm total if I'm using the chart correctly. I can't read the min/max on you chart for rear toe to determine what they think it should be but 3 mm would be pretty good.

 

So they just put it on the rack and showed you where you are without doing any adjustment. Get that toe in spec ASAP, or don't drive much until you do.
Assuming nothing was done for camber/toe correction they should be able to get your camber down to the 2 range while keeping toe in spec, that should result in ok wear. If you're wanting great treadwear I'd get the rear camber/toe kit (either the 4 bolt set or the arm/toe bolt kit) and get that camber to spec. If you're running soft summer tires you'll get that money back pretty quick.

 

Yeah, I told them that I needed an alignment but wanted to see where I was at first, and then I would decide if I needed toe bolts and stuff. No adjustments at the moment. They were awesome and didn't charge me anything for this.

I ordered a toe bolt kit today. Once I get those in the rear, i'll bring it back in and have them adjust everything. I'm going to be stuck with the front camber for a couple months though, funding issues and all...

 

I have swift springs and all my toe is in spec and camber at around negative 1.7 or so. I would say go to a better place to get the aligment! I'm RWD but still I don't think it matters much. no camber kits or toe bolts

My guy just told me my total toe was 10 mm and then asked me what I wanted. I just shrugged as I didn't think of toe in millimeters. He suggested 5 and that's where I am. The car sure turns easier. With almost 12k miles on the tires since the alignment, I'll have to check for asymmetric wear.

The above chart says I'm at 38 minutes of a degree, meaning about 0.6º total toe-in.

 

I'm interested in how yours turns out. I am planning to install Swifts soon. Well, hopefully soon that is the awd springs are on back order until May5. GL!

 

My bolts came in today, plans are to install them on Saturday and have the car aligned on Sunday. I've had to drive it a little bit, and it does ride like crap because of the front end alignment. Luckily the weather hasn't been that bad that I can ride the Harley till she gets into the shop.

 

Hey guys, just also got my alignment done too with swift installed on a g37x sedan. since i'm not so sure how to read the specs, could anyone tell me if it's good enough to not warrant a camber/toe kit? im running on 17's for now until next week when i plan on getting my 19s on. thanks!

 

You should be ok w/ that alignment set, keep an eye on your inner tread wear over the next 5k miles, I doubt you'll have excessive wear though.

 

Interesting. I got a camber toe kit, haven't installed it yet, but since you got into specish numbers, maybe i'll forgo it... Toe is all I'm really worried about. My alignment is scheduled for Sunday.

 

I see that you're also from MN. There's a auto place in Minnetonka/Hopkins that's pretty good, Samaritan Tire. They really know what they're doing.
