Proper way to install coilovers on an X

So my FA500 coils came in and I previously had Swifts installed. On the front the cv boots were torn from having to pull real hard to get enough space to remove the struts. What is the appropriate method to install coilovers on the x in the front?

I'm trying to recall the order I did things on mine and I believe I undid the top mounting points on the shock, unmounted the control arm, then pulled the bottom mounting bolt. I do recall it was a tight fit but not so tight I was having to over stretch the CV.

Also, over 3000 miles on my 500s and no knocking in the rear.

Funny I've been thinking about coilovers or springs all day today. If the FA500 coils don't knock I might just consider them.

I'm going to leave my swifts in the rear since I got the swift upgrade. Down the road I may swap the coils and play with It to see if I get noise
