Best bang for your buck rotors for BBK

Hey guys so whats your opinion on in expensive rotors that won't break your wallet. Not doing any tracking or anything but I do cruises with people some times and end up doing highway runs and stuff. Stock Akebono rotors seem to get hot spots pretty quick. Just had them resurfaced but looking to get new rotors down the line. Thanks

check RockAuto Parts Catalog or KNS Brakes for Centric Premium Rotors, they have better venting and an e-coating to keep rust to a minimum.

BrakePerformance.com has great rotors too. I have them on my xS with the Akebono kit.

I still have them on my rear set and they've held up well.

Whatever you decide OP, based of the similar situation you seem to be in that I was around this time of year... hold off until Black Friday / Cyber Monday. Most of the vendors that have website based stores run specials and additional percentages off-- with the added bonus of free shipping (99 lbs pkg in the case of Centric's for the sport setup).

Personal example, I was able to get Centric Premium rotors on all corners of the car for $260 shipped.

I just poked around and it looks like overall prices have come down on those Centric blanks compared to last year at this time-- so if some places are running the normal %10 off BF/CM deals, you might be able to get them shipped to your door for a little over $240 this year.

Thanks for the heads up guys! But was the advantage of like centric blanks compared to the stock ones? The stock ones are vented too correct? Any advantage of using slotted rotors on our cars?

All front rotors are vented, the centric premiums have improved venting over OEM. Slotted & drilled rotors have some pros but for daily driving they're mainly for show.

Where did you buy those from? And what do you think of the Centric Premium vs stock Akebono rotors?

THMotorsports .. I prefer the Centric's thus far. They seem to dissipate heat better - hence the better venting. I feel the true test for most rotors is year 3 and up, but I see horror stories where some people get less than a year out of crap rotors (ebay cheapies and low cost options from B&M parts stores)-- I couldn't imagine dealing with lateral run-out in less than a year.

Mind you, I did change my StopTech SS pads out (70% life left) which I wanted to switch out as I felt too much residue build up was occurring on the rotor surface/face for my liking. I went with Hawk 5.0 HPS pads and couldn't say enough good things about them, I feel it's a perfect option for those strictly sticking to street use / daily driving.

Just an FYI, Centric is the parent company of StopTech and PowerSlot as well as Qualis parts now. Lot's of their products use the same production lines, outside of 2pc high end StopTech options ($$$). So read into that what you will..
