Looking to paint stock sport wheels

I've got a 2010 Sport that is going to the body shop soon to get the front bumper fixed. I'm considering having the shop paint the stock 19" sport wheels while there. I don't want black but would like something darker than stock that would hide brake dust better. Any suggestions?

A nice gunmetal/anthracite is a good look for just about all body colors and would do a nice job of making brake dust less of an annoyance.

Not the same wheel, but I painted my 18's in "graphite".

Nice! And leaving the center cap chrome to go w/ the chrome lug nuts is a good look too.

Is that plasti dip? I actually bought 4 cans of that color for my stock 19s, but just haven't gotten around to painting them yet. I think I'm going to paint my calipers yellow before I do the wheels. Those look great. Did you use any glossifier or anything?

No, this is base/catalyzed clear. I was going to use plastidip but ended up using real paint for durability & gloss.

Wheels

I used a vinyl insert that I designed on a computer, to fit the 10 spoke OE wheels on my S coupe. You can order from Stacy Banin at Banin's Auto in Trevose PA. Give him a call. I believe he will make 50 inserts for $80.00
They are like sign lettering vinyl for truck lettering. Weatherproof. I had them all through the snowy winter and none even peeled. If you have to replace one, take it off and add another. Spray the spoke with warm , very diluted, soapy water and place one at a time. Dry with a towel or air dry. I recently sold those wheels to buy these 5 spoke wheels.

Sliver or grey depending on perspective.

Anyone have pics of gunmetal/anthracite?

I found a few on Google. I'd go for it, it'll be a nice contrast from silver or grey.

The finish/clear coat on sport rims was so bad, that instead of painting them myself or having someone do it, I took them to a sand blasting shop and had them stripped down to the metal. Once theyre stripped, I painstakingly sanded the rims to an almost chrome finish. Yeah, its a lot of work in which I'm not completely done with them. However, if I endure some curb rash, all I have to do is sand it down, polish, and buff. I'll post pics when I get home
