How low can your X sedan go?

What's up guys. I heard that you really can't go that low on a X sedan. (Is that true). I'm planning on getting either 19s or 20s. It really depends on how low I can go. I would really appreciate some pics of your X sedan on BC coils. Thanx guys

You can go as low as you want as long as you got nice straight roads without potholes dips/bumps. I got about less than an inch of clearance under the front of the car. I've fcked up the splash shield and need to get a new one. I frequently hit the cross brace under the front of the car. Also, the upper control arms hit the inside of fender constantly on big bumps/dips and I'm maxed out on hardness on ccoils. I bottom out on bad/uneven roads which is like every road here in Chi-Town. If I were to do it again I'd get airbags instead of static.

Here are some pics underneath the car. Not much clearance.

I bought a car from Chicago and it is as rusty as yours. My rear lower control arms toe bolts were frozen in place and I had to cut them off the car!! Chicago must use nuclear salt...

From: Framingham Ma,
Your in NYC I would go that low roads are probably like Boston( CRAP) and snow will be an issue if you are too low. 2 inches is the most I would go and DONT buy BC racing coils. I personally wouldn't put coils on a X since they all make noise. Yes the Fortunes I have read make noises also. :/

Coils make noise on an X but not on a RWD? Why?

From: Framingham Ma,
I wish I knew , I sold my BC racing coils. They ALL seem to make noise from the RT rear. Not sure, I really wish there was a solution for the X's. No one even makes frick shocks and struts, Only OEM. Sad really

I've learned all the roads within a 20 mile radius around my house and where I usually drive. I know what roads I can or can't take. I also know what lane I can be in. I know every road imperfection around me. If I do go somewhere that I don't know then I drive carefully and hope I make it xD. For winter, I raise the car to about eibach drop height so I can drive normally.

Yes, this is true. They clunk a bit from inside but It's not very noticeable, none of my passengers ever mentioned any noise.

I'm still currently running BC coils on my sedan. The clunking was fixed after tightening a couple of bolts on the rear (for the most part). They'll still clunk if I hit a bump in the road.

Mine was also about the same ride height as yours in the picture and I'm in NYC. If the OP is in fact in New York, avoid that height like the plague. My flex pipe, mid pipe, and splash guard were scraped to **** after a month. I went about a inch and a half higher on all 4 corners after that and it's been relatively scrape free. But it's NYC, so there's always going to be some stupid road that screws me up anyway (especially Manhattan)

This is why I sold my G35x and bought a G37S

jk, I haven't even lowered the S, because of the terrible roads here in the Surrounding burbs of Chicago. I have to take my Jeep when I drive into the city because of the pot holes and such there.

I think as long as you are okay with your diffs being close to the ground, you are GTG.

My 28 miles drive to and from work is every lowrider's dream. =)

The road surface is like a pancake smooth. There are 5 to 6 mile stretch of blinding hill and slight winding road in the middle of farm field (Route 38 from 6 mile road in Racine , WI to Spring street, in Racine) The fun part is it is a country road with speed limit at 55 MPH (60 for me)
Did I mention the whole stretch is a no passing zone? There are only few spots where I can pass on the right.

I have a video of it and I will post it here if anyone would like to see.

My only problem is my X is not lowered yet. =)

Here is my video of route 38 driving 5 miles above the speed limit. The iphone6 is at the rearview mirror level so the hill is not as blinding and curvey, but from drivers view, it is a bit dangerous to speed up and be surprised if any deer or broken car is along your path.

To OP, sorry to hijack your thread. I am making a new thread for this...
