Stoptech Update

2013 Infiniti G37xS coupe.
So... I followed the recommendation in this forum and replaced my pads to Stoptech . I must report that I'm very pleased with them. Great stopping power and pretty quite (starting to make a bit of noise in the morning since it's getting colder).

Just finished a day at the track with these pads (Summit Point) which is extremely hard track on the brakes. Pads did great! only got a slight fade during the 4th session (also used Motul 600 as well). I would say that at the end of the 4th session I had some smoke coming out of my brakes. used about 1/3 pad during the day.

Next spring will probably use Hawk DTC-60 for the track.

PS- I switch back to A/S tires today (from my PSS) I hate the winter!!!

Great on the track for a street tire. Fun to drive everyday. Stock A/S Yoko SUCK!

Nice feedback, love the stoptech pads, similar to the Wilwood BP10 pads that I'm running on my Superlites. I still have the Stoptechs in back, and are performing and wearing excellent.

It sounds like you didn't bed in the pads until the final session. If you could have done that before you hit the track, the pads would most likely have worn less and stopped harder.

I did try to follow the bed in procedure before the track day ( maybe did not do it good enough). This track is really hard on your brakes (100 to 50 followed by 120 to 40 mph and more...). Don't you think I would have bed them in after the first 20 min session ?

I just bought the ebc yellow stuff for my track day coming up soon. Hopefully they are as good as people have said.

Please update the OP with which pads you are referring to. Stoptech makes several versions. Thinking of going with the stoptech performance street pads here when it's time. (link)

I'm talking about the street performance brake pads.
Unfortunately I don't think they are making race pads for Infiniti G37 (yet)

The performance street pads are excellent pads. I did a series of tests on different affordable street/track pads, and these are the most well rounded of the bunch. I will choose the performance street over Hawk HP+.

The bite on these pads are not as aggressive as a lot of the pads out on the market, but the ability to take heat is not comparable. I use these pads for just about all the cars I own. I can take the cars to the track and have fun without fading them out. And if time comes for competition I swap to full race compound PMU clubracers, porterfield r4, st43 etc etc...
