Turn Rotors or buy new?

Recently my car has started to skip when braking. It will bite hard then slip and bite hard repetitively to the point that my steering wheel wiggles and my shifter vibrates. When I am alone even the passenger seat wiggles. I know that this means that my rotors are "warped" (developed a hot spot) and was wondering if you guys think I should just have my rotors turned or if I should go ahead and buy some new rotors. I found a link on eBay for 8 ceramic pads and 4 slotted and drilled rotors for 180 bucks but I can have them turned for 15-20 in town. Just let me know what you think.

If you don't have a lot of miles on your rotors turning them is a good plan. You might also have uneven brake pad deposits and turning them will clean it up again rather than a true warped rotor. If you don't mind a bit more dust the Stoptech Street Pads would be a good upgrade after you turn the rotors (or get new ones if needed).

Thanks newt. I'm thinking that I will have them turned and put some new ceramic pads on there. I don't particularly want the stop tech metallic pads because I'm ocd about keeping my car clean and brake dust is not worth it.

You'd really have to measure the rotor to see if there's enough thickness left to even turn them. Honestly rotors are pretty cheap I'd just buy a new set.

That seems too low for complete rotor/brake replacement all around. Do you have a link? With that said, Centric is the OEM for many of the rotors out there (Stoptech included), and their lower end product is actually quite good (made in China to their specs). They make pads as well.
