I've lowered a few other cars in the past and alignment is definitely needed. I made the mistake a choosing firestone as my alignment place on the last spring install. I needed new tires in about 3 months. NEVER GO TO FIRESTONE!!!!
I think a lot has to do with the tech doing the work
After installing the eibachs, f/r camber kits I had my alignment done at firestone over a year ago and haven had any issues.

I did that with my last car too... Getting an alignment at Firestone might be worse than not getting one at all. You think your all set, but in actuality...
Maybe Im missing something here but when you guys had the alignment done at firestone did you guys get the alignment readings after it was done to show the current readings

Yes and no. They gave me a readout with my car info in all green after the alignment. I went for a few months thinking everything was OK after the alignment until I brought my car in for my next tire rotation and they told me my new tires were almost to the belts. These were tires I put on with my new wheels right after I lowered and aligned my car. I went back to Firestone to see what the deal was. Apparently this wasn't an isolated issue because they told me he admitted to only doing front alignments on cars and forging the paperwork. They fired him and refunded my alignment but I was on my own for the tires. Needless to say, I will never go back.
I do agree that a lot comes down to the tech, but you also have to factor in what type of techs a company will hire.

OMG, just when you think you've heard it all, they should have given you some kind of reimbursement for the damage that employee caused to your tires, not to mention you were probably driving a fairly unpredictable vehicle. If this wasn't too long ago you might have a case worthy of taking it higher up the company ladder.
Wow
Awfully high horse there Ryne... Bringing up the safety of others in a conversation about an alignment after a drop... HA, that was good. Not at all convincing, but good nonetheless.
i always wondered if they were able to go in to the computer and adjust the specs if they wernt able to do the alignment or just didnt want to...
There has to be some sort of "calibration" coefficient available in the machine. If that's the case, then they can absolutely change it to whatever they want. Fudge factors make the world go round.
thats what i figured but for someone to go in and just put a number in there to make the little square turn green is what really gets me worried. it sucks that where i am now i have no shops i can really trust all there is out here are large chain companies like firestone.

High horse? Its a fact. The car won't behave predictably... you don't even know what to predict because you have no idea what your cars specs are set at. Am I saying there is a significant chance something will happen, no, but the possibility exists. You can do whatever you want with your car but there really isn't any denying the fact that a car with a proper alignment is more safe than one where you threw on springs and plan to play it by ear.

Wow
Discount Tire, where I bought the tires, has really good customer service. They really helped me out on my replacement tires I needed since I was a return customer and everything that happened. They were actually the ones who found the camber wear, while performing a routine rotation. Discount Tire basically saved Firestone because their generosity put out my desire to pursue anything with Firestone. I really just didn't want anything to do with Firestone anymore after that.
