Pretty easy if you've done some wrench twisting. The 19mm lower strut bolt is the killer but w/ PB blast a 2ft breaker bar and a 21mm back up wrench (on the nut on the back of the 19mm bolt) it's pretty easy. Just be sure to either use decent "rental" compressors from Autozone/O'Reillys or take the struts to a shop to swap the springs out once they're removed from your G. If you use the compressors be sure to grease the threads heavily and use an air impact gun on the bolts to compress the springs. Also need to make a mark for the top strut hat orientation, this needs to be mounted in the same position w/ your new springs. Also a good time to install your camber/toe kit as I really wouldn't recommend dropping w/out them.
Hey blnewt wouldn't a camber kit only be required for springs lower than 2" drop? I thought the swift and eibachs don't need camber kits.
That's a topic I've gone back & forth with. Some get by without them and are able to get close enough to have reasonable wear and others have rapid tread wear. IMO the camber sets pay for themselves long term in tire purchases and being able to have your car aligned properly in spec.
I used to be of the mindset to get it close enough and just deal w/ a bit faster wear and alignment a bit out, but I don't think $500 is much to pay to have it right.
