BC coils; amount of drop without front camber adjusters?
BC coils; amount of drop without front camber adjusters?
Hi folks,
As this is my second G, I have decided to lower it with BC coils. However I wish to only drop it an inch or two.
I plan to use SPC camber adjusters in the back. However I understand that the BC coil fronts can be set up with -1 camber adjustment. Will that be enough negative camber for a 2 inch drop?
Also FYI, I plan to by a set of hotchkiss anti sway bars as well and install those in the same session.
Also I will not upgrade to 20" wheels for this project. As I wish to keep things in the 18 to 19 sizes for unsprung weight considerations. And I will probably roll on my stock 17s till they wear out
Thanks All,
Regards,
Scott

BCs drop pretty low in the back, they're the same setup as my Megans and even at the highest rear setting I'm at zero gap w/ just about 1/4" of safe room to thread down on the rear collar. The fronts you can go as high as a 4x4, but to give it a balanced drop you're probably going to want to be somewhere in the 1.5-1.75" drop in the front. Not sure about the camber adjusters you're talking about, you'll want about -1 to -1.4 range for camber (I can't remember the exact spec) as long as your F&R toe is in spec you can run camber up a bit out of spec w/out wear issues, seems like > -2 degrees is the point where frequent rotations are req'd to keep wear in check.
As I type....my G37x sedan is getting alignment and balance right now at the stealership. I'm on BC coil lowered only about 1.5" all around just because no camber kit. I will ask for before and after spec and post it later on.
Maybe I am asking the wrong question here. Let me rephrase:
Can I do a 1-2" drop in front without using a camber adjusting A-arm?
What will I be giving up if I don't install this part?

I believe the AWD X BC coilovers are a different setup and may be a bit higher (at the highest settings) but not sure (regarding Yan141s reply)
