Help Ugly Front Wheel Gap
Ugly Front Wheel Gap
Greetings Everyone,
I traded 2005 Audi (Money Pit) S4 V8 for a 2008 Infiniti G37s Coupe.
One of the best trades ever! Anyway, I can go either shock/spring or coilover, but my decision will ultimately be made by which shock/spring combo will get rid of the offset front to rear wheel gap on the G37s Coupes. In every pic I've seen of settled springs, the front always has .5 to 1 inch more gap than the rear. Are there any combos that even this out? If not, I'll just go with the quietest, closest to stock ride quality coilover set on the market as my car is a 60 mile a day daily driver. Plus I'm almost 50, so I want my teeth to stay in my mouth as long as possible
Thanks in advance!!!

Just get coilovers, you'll end up getting them anyway after you get tired of the spring ride. At least I did. You'll get the exact height you want and better yet, the ride you want
Oh BTW, welcome to the site!

You could do what Bl said and just get coilovers. They would certainly fix your issue.
BUT, if you wanted to stay with springs and still have a little control, you could do the spring/koni shock setup.
Honestly, a friend of mine gave me the same advice Bl gave you. Get coilovers...you're gonna get em anyway sooner or later. I followed that advice and I haven't looked back.

I would also agree with coilovers. If you have the money a used set will cost about $600. I would go with Tanabe Sustec Pro. They are extremely comfortable for DD. They are only height adjustable but cost less than high quality height/damping adjustable coilovers (like Tein, Fortune Auto or KW) but are much nicer than lower quality height/damping adjustable coilovers like Megan, BC, or KSport.
If you want to go with spring/shock combo, H&R springs provide the lowest drop and Koni shocks are damping adjustable. The set up will cost you about $800-$900. Brand new Tanabes will cost about the same.
Also, you'll need camber kits for getting your alignment back into spec if you drop more than 1 inch. Go with SPC.

Ill toss my. 02¢ Going Eibach Springs is a Mild drop and after installed they can get the car back in spec without a Camber kit...it will close it enough for a DD but yes Coils are the way to go ...HR Tein Springs will drop it to but Camber kits will be needed...
Do a search...youll see what the Eibach drop looks like...
welcome!
Happy New year

IMO I would not put any thing used on my car that's related to suspension. Swiss I think summed it up pretty good. However I went H&R springs and not coils. H&R is an agressive drop. Ignore what their website may state...it will slam your G thus resolving the issue with the wheel gap.
On my 6MT it resulted in 2" F and 1.75" R. I kept the stock shocks and the ride is very nice. My G is also my DD. You will no doubt need a camber kit afterwards...I'm planning to go SPC...shopping for price now. At the end of the day you will need to pay to play.......Welcome Aboard........
