Basically These Brake Rotors Suck

My brake rotors started to squeak about 20k miles into the life of the brakes. No safety issue at all-lots of life left in the rotors and pads. When I had my car serviced, I complained. The dealership said the rotors had "glazing" on them and they would remove said "glazing" free of charge (under warranty). My car now has only 6k more miles on it and they are squeaking again! I can see this is just going to be an annoyance that will go with the car. But honestly, how does Infiniti design a $45k car with such an irritating thing? I have had MANY cars in all price ranges, types and foreign as well as domestic and have never had a stupid design flaw as this.

OEM pads? Consider changing to different ones perhaps? I think this is an intermittent issue and not consistent on all G's. My OEM brakes never ever squeaked even a little bit, except if I'd left it parked outside for several consecutive days and it got the slight rust coating which is normal on all iron rotors. The first stop or 2 and it was gone.

Do you sit in a lot of stop and go traffic? If your pads get hot and you are sitting in traffic you will transfer material to the rotor. My wilwoods used to do it on my old car. Sometimes doing a few high speed stops from 60-10 not coming to a complete stop will clean off the rotors. I'm with BB though, never had this issue on my stock Akebonos.

Im at 60k on my stock rotors. On my second set of pads, currently running stop tech pads. I havent had any issues with my rotors. No warping. Noise. Anything. I'll change them out soon simply due to regular maintenance. But for I havent had any issues with mine.
