LOL, if they made good shocks/struts for our cars the answer would be springs plus shocks/struts as long as you dont track your G. It has become the norm to get coils it seems, even though many people do not track their G's. I was on H&R springs and that is slammed, I was very happy with the ride and the height. I just turned over to the Tein flex coils and like them but not sure if they are worth $1700. The good part about Tein is they offer EFDC which is can be used from inside of your car to adjust damping. If your going to spend money on coils I say go with Tein w/ EDFC. I just think its funny how everyone thinks springs are a waste of money..Coils are nice to adjust your height and to decide a specific height as well. At the same time there are enough springs for our cars that have different height levels to choose from. Either way is fine depending on what your preference is.

So, say I don't want height adjustment and an Eibach or H&R drop is fine. Is the ride really that bad with progressive springs compared to coilovers at the same height?

Its all personal preference, coils with damping adjustment are going to allow you to adjust the ride whether it be soft or hard. Although some coils dont do a very good job of it, some like Tanabe only have height adjustment. I can't really give you an answer because its all based on opinions. In the end if you have the money its best to go with coils, just was trying to say springs are not worthless.

I ran springs for a couple of years and switched to coils this past summer. If you have the money, I'd definitely do coils. Mainly because it does make a difference on your ride quality and overall performance. Even if you have no intentions on tracking the car, it's still a better option than springs for daily driving. I d recommend the Tein SSP. Great price, great quality and can be paired with EDFC which allows you to adjust dampening from inside the car.
You're 3rd option would be to get shocks like the Tokico https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...e-for-g37.html and springs of your choice.

You have bags on coils setup? i have been doing loooong research for that, ending up with 3 choices: HLS KW, Umbrella system, Vip auto.. and they all cost from 2500 to 3500 $ without coils..Which set me back on this project..

Get coils especially if you plan on gettin into the offset game with stretch/poke. Can't do much on springs!

Supposedly those new Swift springs are supposed to be a bit more level drop than eibachs and ride like coils, whatever that means. No one has posted a review yet though.

but i won't track my car, and i don't wanna cut a hole on the trunk liner for the spring rate adjuster. So megan still suitable for us as daily drive?
