Ok, it helps to look things up (gotta love the internet). The serviceman's explanation was lame. I guess he was trying to put it in "lame-man's terms"...sorry.
Here's what they did as well as who it applies to. Sounds like a fix.

This kind of fix works for lots of cars...you don't necessarily have to replace the pins; could just re-grease them. If they don't have grease on them, they will squeak as the the pads slide.
Same applies for the backs of the pads where they touch the bracket and caliper piston.They should get a little grease too. A lot of times people forget about that when they replace pads.

That explains what he might have been trying to say...much better. I was also using this as an opportunity to check out the new 2 day old Infiniti location on Bryant Irvin Rd. You might be interested tejasg37x, nice place.

Thanks for the info. I'm now having the same issue in my 2010 Vert. 6,600 miles and in a northern climate, so I squeel like crazy everytime I back out of a parking space or my garage at slow speed. Arranging for dealer visit in the next week or so to get it (and a few other things) addressed.
