Title says it. I see a lot of people on here installing eibach's pro kits or whatever brand springs. That great, it lowers your ride. You look super cool. But what about handling? Do you bounce around more? Cornering?
I made the mistake once, got eibach's pro kit on my Eclipse GSX and oh my did the handling go to ****. Mind you I looked hella cool in my lower ride. I figured since that if I ever mess with suspension in the future, I do it right. No more cutting corners. I've had a few cars since then, but never touched suspension. That being said, I am curious still, those of you with just springs, how's your ride?

When I put my springs On my old 350 the handling was no good, but also that was with oem shocks. As soon as I put aftermarket shocks on it was like riding on rails.
Thats what I plan on doing, is installing shocks and springs at the same time, especially if your shocks haven't been replaced in a bit or at all

If your post is sincere, and you want to do it right, you can NOT go wrong with the KW Variant 3. I absolutely love them. Looks and handling.
If you're in SoCal, Lou at Amplified Motorsports is the man to see, IMO.

Well anytime you lower a car it's going to handle a little bit better at least
Lower center of gravity = less body roll and easier turn in
Problem is it's not enough of a difference when you're on springs to say you got them for "handling". Really it's only for show until you get coils
This is a good thread w/ perfect timing for me as well. I'm wanting to lower my G so my low profile 20s will look more at home without the excessive gaps.
No way can I justify to the wife spending anything more than just springs & the req'd alignment. I have the Journey so I'm thinking the Eibachs will just firm up the ride a bit. I really don't want it significantly more jarring than the 20s are providing, and I know if it's slamming & bouncing I'll be going back to the shop to get the G back to my stock springs. There's no one around here w/ a lowered G so I can't really ask firsthand or go for a ride-along to get a feel for the difference. I'd really hate to spend money that my wife already is pretty much against and end up with something we'll both regret. I'd love to just plunk down the $$ for the KW3s but it's just not in the cards
What can I truly expect ride-wise w/ my Journey struts & eibach springs? We're already used to the firmer ride on the 20s so a bit firmer is still acceptable. Sorry for the slight thread-jack but it's pretty much on topic

Eibach Springs : Pro-Kit vs Sportline
IMO, anytime you lower the center of gravity it should help improve handling, among other things...if the springs a made specifically for the car.

Lowering sprrings will help a little bit but like everyone else says its mainly for looks, if you do lowering springs with new struts its gonna be awesome almost as good as coilovers i'd say. Coilovers are still the best in the end though.
