Slip warning light

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows what the warning light SLIP means?

Every time i turn on the car 3 warning lights come on : SLIP , VDC OFF , & the Emergency Brake light.

I know what the VDC & Brake light are but cant seem to figure out why they always come on.

Do they go off?when I crank the dash lights up then goes off.
Slip means you've lost traction

No they don't turn off. They stay on as long as the car is on

Someone told me it might just be a bad sensor but I wanted to ask you guys just incase.

Slip and VDC may stay on if you're low on brake fluid. Give that a check. When you start to see those lights staying on your pads are a bit over 50% wear... it's a feature...j/k.

It will but before it's low enough for that warning the car's motion like under agressive acceleration or possibly even hard braking will only temporarily trip the sensor the result being the VDC Off and SLIP lights come on and stay on. A bit of a bug actually but then like I joked it's an early warning feature. You can power off to clear, but chances are you'll see it again if you do the repro described above.

I had my G in for a repair replacing the dashboard last fall at a body shop. The SLIP and VDC lights stayed on and I had it fixed by the dealer.

They replaced the ABS module and get rid of the two lights.

I suggest checking the oil level first. If that doesn't get rid of the lights, take the G to the dealer...

Your brake fluid is low. Fill up then re-set your battery.

Yea I had the same thing happen to my G. Took it in, and I needed new pads! After a resurface of the rotors, and new pads...the light doesn't come on!

I had the same problem. Brake light would come on first then the slip light after brisk acceleration. Been on for a few months now. Came here for a solution, added just a tiny bit of brake fluid, the level was down to just above the minimum, filled to the max fill line. After a quick test drive the lights did not come on. This solution appears to have worked. Car has 73k miles, 2013 g37 sedan. replaced front pads at 43k miles. The car might be on original rear pads, bought car from Carmax with 34k miles. I haven't changed the rear pads myself. Might be time to do the rear. Love the car, had a G35 before this one. No issues with brake noise or anything like that.
