G37s oem suspension
G37s oem suspension
Hey, I have an 08 g37s with stock sport suspension, my tires are 245 front 275 rear. My question is that is it normal for the the ride quality to be so rough? I mean extremely rough. I can feel every bumps and cracks on the road as if the shocks/springs doesn't absorb the impact. I took it to the dealer and they said that it's normal and that it might cause by my tires siZe not being oem size. Is that true?

If you went down in sidewall size then yes, you're going to feel bumps more compared to the OEM setup. I'm assuming you have 245/40 in the front and 275/35 in the rear.
Ive been checking tire diameters for a future purchase to his size myself.
To the OP what tire brand, some do have stiffer sidewalls, and harder rubber compound.
Also check your tire pressures.
LoL tires are still new, bought it 3 weeks ago. I'm planning on getting tanabe coils anyway, I just wanna see if the oem sport suspension problem is normal, if it is, then honestly that's suck! What's so sport tuned about it?!
You can't have both. You want a smooth as silk ride, buy a Cadillac.

Are you kidding? Dude, if you want the ride on rails cornering, you're going to feel the bumps. It's like tires... you can have soft rubber that grips and wears out in 20k miles, or you can have tires that last 60k miles but don't grip.

I have the sport suspension with tanabe spring and it rides fine to me. The think is, ride harshness is very subjective so in all reality we can't really help you when it come to the way the suspension feels to you.

Its not a soft/cadi like ride, its a sport suspension.
Handling on the car is exceptional and IMO characteristic of what most sport suspensions feel like. Could it be alittle softer, maybe. I personally like it just the way it is.
I went frome oem 19" to Vossen cv1 with Vredestein 20" and let me tell ya
the dealer is right. My G has gone from being a comfy luxury coupe to a freaking race car. Handling is very precise and way more responsive now but i can tell you the harshness of the road feels about 25% more than stockies. In fact when Vossen releases their new 19" later this summer i'm realy considering going back to 19". Unless somebody can confirm that coilovers can smooth this out.
