Can you adjust coilover dampening without jacking car?

Can you adjust coilover dampening without jacking car?

I have bc coilovers on a AWD coupe, i was installing them an my friend said "dont forget to jack up the car before you adjust the stiffness". Is this true? or can i just turn the *** and drive off?

I have heard that before but dont think it is necessary. I just turn the **** and go and I can tell a difference between the settings without jacking the car up. I assume you ran the rear extenders in to your trunk though?

Not yet. I'm finishing off the backs today. Just curious in general since I don't wanna mess anything up
