I'm looking at getting new rotors and i was thinking maybe new calipers. I searched for it on here but couldn't find what i was looking for, do y'all think that the stock akebono calipers are good enough, or are there better calipers out there?

 

There's always a better setup out there. Just depends on your budget.

Try Stoptechs, AP Racing, Rotoras, Endless, Brembo, Project Mu.

They're all good BBK.

 

IMO, the OEM Akebono calipers + upgraded rotors 2 pc rotors is a great compromise of performance, looks, and cost.

I have seen Stoptech, AP Racing, Rotoras, and Brembo. I was looking mainly at Rotoras and Brembo. out of those four is there one you would recommend over Rotora or Brembo?

Try it out first, if it does't suffice then go for a 6 pot (8 would be more of a show thing)

 

How do those compare to the Adam's Rotors?

I have not tracked yet, but i plan on beginning that once all my performance mods are done.. sadly this may be a while.

 

Dunno anything at all about Adams rotors, I'd never heard of them personally until a couple of weeks ago so I can't give you any informed opinion either good or bad.

I have the RB 2 pc fronts on my car now and they're very well made, good looking, and light. They're somewhat expensive though IMO.

I have the Rotoras rotors on my car with hawk brake pads....I HATE MY ROTORS!!!! They rusted the first day I had them on and makes me sick to my stomach. Time for new ones for me.

 

The RB have zero rust on the friction surface, in the slots or holes, on the edges, or on the hats. Come to think of it, I've never noticed them getting the light coat of rust when the car sits outside for a few days.

I have Hawk ceramics and like them fir daily driving.

 

thanks, not sure which rotors to go with, but it will be one of those two. then i have to decide on calipers

 

If I were you I would go with BB setup. Come to think of it since I already have the Hawk ceramic going with his setup would be the best idea for me. I still dont think I need 6 piston brakes even with TT just my opinion though.

 

Hmm if i did that i would prolly go with the AP Racing setup
