Update...

So I got the replacement rotors installed today and I could immediately tell a HUGE difference. There was obviously something out of spec on the old rotors. The new rotors have a better better overall feel and there is absolutely no brake vibration on these at any speeds tested. The stops are firmer and more sure. I will also post a 500 mile review on the replacements. Once the car is clean again (after all the precipitation stops) I will follow thru on my promise to post better pics.

just curious, the center looks lt. blue; is that just the picture or did you paint the center? I would think it would be zinc or nickle coated already wouldn't it?

I bought a pair of StopTech's and I am having this same problem with High frequency vibration between 40 decelerating to 20 MPH. I wonder why this issue is an issue?

So it was the part for sure? Sounds like bad install could be a possibliity...

Glad your new brakes are working as they should. Where are those pics??? Can't rack up 500 miles in a month and a half?? LOL

1. Were the brakes properly bed in before hard stops done?

2. What are these metal matrix brake pads? Ceramic or carbon metalic? What are the temp ratings for them?

Ha... Actually I only drive about 7 miles a day to work so it takes a while. I am actually going to take pics when I get it back from the dealer for my A Pillar creak.

Here is one photo however

Not sure but I think that was unlikely. It's interesting however I have heard no followup from Stillen as was promised by the Brake Manager. Meanwhile I am out the additional fee for the reinstall.

Lesson learned on this one. I wont get burned again.

That's just the way the light reflected from the flash. It is actually a bright silver color.

Overall despite being zinc coated I am experiencing some spot rust on the rear hubs. Earlier I mentioned that the center hubs looked stained or something. Its as if the zinc coating wore off in spots and that's where it is rusting. I am going to pull the rear wheels off and get the spots removed and coat them with a protective finish. I don't want to risk pushing Stillen for new rotors and have the same issue I had at first.

Did you follow the recommended bedding procedure? A series of 60-5mph stops with no complete stops in between. The complete process is detailed here.
