what about the caliper seals? id be worried about painting with them still installed. also, do you do any sort of sanding/scrubbing to prep the surface for paint?
really? you're telling me a can of duplicolor off the shelf has higher temp rating than powdercoating that cures at 375 to 400 degrees? o.k., sure. and its more durable too i guess.
Brake caliper paint can withstand up to 900 degrees of intermittent heat, if you use high heat paint (like i did), it goes up to 1,200 degrees.
G2 Caliper paints can also withstand up to (IIRC) 950 degrees of intermittent heat.
As far as durability goes, it depends on your prep. On my old car, the paint stayed on the calipers for 80k miles (until i sold it).
