Do I need a camber kit?

For my G37x (AWD) coupe, Eibach's finally releasing springs for it next week. When I lower my G, do I need to buy a camber kit to correct the camber, considering I have the AWD coupe? According to Eibach engineers, the drop rate will be 1.9 & 1.6. Apparently, there was a lot of room so a more aggressive drop was developed. And would the camber kit I buy be different for the X coupe than the S coupe?

I'd love your viewpoints on this one. Thx.

With that much drop you will probably want a camber kit. IMO anything past 1.3"-1.5" could probably use it.

I recommend a camber kit anytime you lower the car. At stock, the G already runs some negative camber so you're just adding to it. Save yourself some tires and get a camber kit.

I agree that you may need one. Are camber kits available for AWD?

Thanks for the feedback guys! So I guess I'll def get a camber kit. Since I'm not aware of what the true benefits are, is it pretty much just to save/extend the life of the tire?

Hamster, not sure if the camber kit is available for the AWD. I guess I'll have to shoot Andy from HP Auto a message to see if the AWD takes a different one.

Guys, would you recommend that I get rear camber kit only, front camber kit only, or both given my case?

Given the drop you are considering, then you will need both front and rear if you want to stay in spec. I am dropped on Eibach and front was out of spec just barely plus I don't like the looks of too much neg camber. Just installed front camber kit this weekend. Good thread here with good before and after pics.

Hmm...wasn't thinking about buying all of this at the beginning, but I guess I'll have to get both to be safe. Thanks for the link!

Yeah I was just going to tint and clearmask, but that plan quickly went out the window.

Getting the front is debatable but you will most definitely want the rear.

Definitely the rear, it will save your tires big time.
Since your front drop is so much, probably want to get the front too.

Make sure you get all your OEM parts from the installer, in case the drop becomes a problem in the winter.

I could be wrong on this, but I was told that the AWD coupe would need completely new suspension components for lowering it. Something about how the AWD geometry is different, but supposedly none of the aftermarket parts (springs, camber kits, toe arms, etc) will fit the AWD coupe. You'll definitely want to check into the fitment before you buy anything.

Hey Andrew, true, the AWD coupe does require a different suspension system, which is why Eibach has just confirmed the release of springs for the X coupe. Should be next week from what I'm being told. I'm not sure about the camber kits. I think the SPC camber kit out there does indeed work for the X coupe.

And thanks again to the rest of you guys who've been helpful in steering me toward the camber kit. Undoubtedly, I have to get the rear camber kit. I'm still not sure about the front kit, cause it seems like everyone is divided on this particular issue. So I'll have to think about that one still.
