Coilover kit vs Spring kit

So I've been reading up on some of the threads already posted about the various Coilover kits and decided to hold off on my Eibach pro kit for a second. So far I understand that a spring kit will basically lower the car offering no adjustment unlike a full Coilover kit. At this point in time I only plan to ride street.
I guess my question is what is the main advantage of getting a Coilover kit for $2000 versus the springs for a lil over $200?
Thank you for any valuable input you can offer.

Springs give you a set drop.

With coils, you can adjust your drop as well as your shocks.

Springs only will eventually destroy your stock shocks, and they will need to be replaced.

^^ thanks.Seeing that I don't want to destroy my stock shocks I guess I'll have to go with a Coilover kit.
I know a lot of people like the JIC and HKS. are the Megan racing coil really that bad or is it just preference?

You answered your own question....

If your not going to track, why get coils? Unless you want to adjust your height to your choice.

I just wasn't sure if there was any other advantage that I had missed. I do like the idea of being able to adjust it the height that I want.

Some people mentioned a rattling noise with the Megans. Have you experience any of that? How long have you had them?

The rattling issue has been resolved, according to one member he said the noice is reduced 95% from before, and everyone with the BC's seem happy with them.

One other advantage on the BC's and few others is they are also ride adjustable as well as height.

You can go springs and just replace the struts once they come out with a after market set that works with aftermarket springs. The stock struts will last a while if you do not slam the car. Allot of people did Tokico D Specs with the Tein springs on the G35.

Solo has a pretty sweet price on the K Dubs but IMO for the money the BC's are the best deal out.

I was never planning to get coils either, because I never really planned to track the car. But once I got them I'm really glad that I did. It made me like the car even more and I just wanted to drive it more and more. I can't wait to get it to the track as well right after I finish all of the suspension mods.

coils are a waste of $ to me. unless you track your car and need to adjust damping, theres no point. no one changes their height all the time. as for shocks going out on stock shocks, i had almost 70k miles with a 1" drop on my g35 and no issues.

You don't have to adjust height all the time, but being able to change yor damping is when you're gonna drive the car hard (i.e. canyon runs) and then you can change it back for comfort.

Coils are woth every penny only if you drive the car hard.

I got Megan Racing on my car, great product, and let me tell you, I've put them to the test. (no track time) but some nice turns at 110mph, going up the 14 FWY, you know there's a point where the freeway is just a slamon course. I KNOW, I KNOW, I shouldn't be doing it, but I had to take that GTO. I had to!

Solopresident_ Thats a great offer and I might take you up on it.

I think I read somewhere the BC and Megan were made by the same company. Anyone know if one is better than the other?
