Entcee's Engine Bay Redux

Rochester nudged me to start an engine bay thread, so here we go. This little project has become a labor of love.

A few months ago, I planned to refresh my engine bay and change a few things. I had a plan, and it was going well... until it wasn't. One of the last items (and most costly) wasn't exactly what I expected. I tried to convince myself it was fine, even though it made me change some other things. But the perfectionist in me came out and told me that I would not be happy unless it was 100% what I envisioned. And Mr. perfectionist showed me a new, better vision for the engine bay. I know I am being cryptic. Once everything is complete, I will lay out all the disappointments and pitfalls. And there will be a few things for sale!

This project might get pushed until spring as I need a couple warm weekends, and those might be gone.

In the meantime, here is the before....and some teaser pics.

Something peeking though

This is close, but the final engine cover will be slightly different

Once this project is done, I will likely be selling that engine cover ^ with a stainless (silver) logo plate.

Liquid platinum front end looks mint. Which PS cap are you using? Also, is that a Megan strut tower brace with the logo removed and an Infiniti logo positioned in its place?

Thanks!!

It is the ZeeToyz PS cap. I had to cut off the "ears" of the OEM cap, and this fits over it.

You are correct!! Megan strut bar with a bubble sticker I had made to cover the holes that held the Megan logo. I still have a few of those bubble stickers if you want one.

That custom Fuji plate is beautiful. I love that look. Did you make it yourself?

Yessir! Well, I designed it and paid to have it laser cut. The one in my before picture is the prototype and 100% hand made.

Not sure if you remember, but in 2020/2021 I was selling them. Sold a bunch until Nissan Motor Co told me to stop. It was for that fuji design, which was the best seller. Sale post: https://www.myg37.com/forums/group-b...ok-inside.html

A bit of the design process... I ended up rounding the bottom as well in the final design.

Their "brand protection" dept. They targeted my eBay listings and of course eBay sided with them. At the time, I had an automotive LED business on eBay (had this business for 20+ years and it is closing at the end of this year) so I could not risk my eBay account getting banned. I decided to stop making/selling the plates. I could never get Nissan to respond to my emails: brandprotection@mm-nissanusa.com

I think they are strict, and maybe one of the only car manufacturers that are? I was looking at custom floor mats and one site had most of the car logos (embroidered into the mat). None for Nissan or Infiniti and stated "due to copyright..." I wonder if Nissan goes after anyone making / printing anything close to their logos.

Some intern in their Marcom department monitoring for unauthorized brand usage. The brand needs all the help it can get: https://qz.com/nissan-sales-profits-dealers-1851662995
