Window Trim Scratch Removal

Hi everyone,

This is my first post. Thanks for making an excellent community with so much information.

I am a new 2011 G37X owner. Loving this car so far! I am having a hard time finding information on the chrome window trim material. Some previous models have plastic trim with an aluminum finish. What material is this, and is it clear coated? What's the best way to polish and remove scratches from the 2011 window trim?

I tried using the search feature, but the results were about vinyl wrapping, plastic dipping, and chrome removal techniques. I want to keep the chrome, but improve the look and remove some of the swirls and scratches.

Thanks for your help!

I have a coupe, so I am not sure what material the pieces you mention are. However, for a light scratch/swirl removal on either plastic or chrome, maybe start with something like Plast-X from Meguiars? You want a very light polish to remove those minor swirls. Maybe a light metal polish, if you can be sure its truly a metal surface. Either way, make sure to test on a less conspicuous part of the trim to make sure you get the desired results.
