Anybody disassemble both versions of coupe headlight?

Wondering if anybody here has experience disassembling both the 2008-2011 coupe headlight and the 2012-2015 coupe headlight?

The main differences between these two are that Nissan changed the fog light to a running light in 2012 MY. That meant they removed the "city light" and the adjusting mechanism for the fog. And they removed the H1 bulb base and installed a plastic wedge bulb base (it looks easily converted back to H1)
The 2012+ inner reflector can still be converted to H1 bulb by changing the base out, but the 2012+ seems to have deleted the adjusting mechanism on the inner reflectors (previously the fogs)

I am wondering if the 2012+ running light inner reflectors can be converted back to adjustable? I see in the 2012+ headlight housing the area for adjuster is there, but I haven't taken apart a 2012+ headlight yet to see if the inner reflectors could be converted to adjustable.

Nobody ever answered this guy but I have same question (although I think some his facts are wrong since I have 2011 and I think I have newer version).

I got some Chinese headlights but they are the older model I believe with an H1 or H7 (I think) bulb in the reflector part and it has the little 168/194 underneath. I think my car has the 168/164 bulb where the H1 bulb is on these Chinese lights.

Any advice on if these are usable or not or do I need to do some serious re-wiring? Could I plug and play and keep the top light empty (where my 168/194 is) and just the 168/194 location on these lights for it?

wtf did they change this. So dumb.

The difference should just be one wire, right? The older headlights have both a "city light" and "fog light" whereas the newer headlight has just the "city light".

Now, as far as rewiring goes, it could be Nissan just used or disused a contact position in the connector, or they could have gone all-out and re-wired the whole thing with a different connector.

The FSM for both versions is how you could tell. If the connectors on the Chinese lights fit your car, just pin it out to make sure no +12V are directly shorted to ground.

Yea, figured I’d ask before I go digging through the FSM trying to read a wiring schematic that don’t understand. The newer headlight is missing one pin in the main plug that connects to the car that the older light has, that’s most likely it. I guess it’s naive to think that Nissan would keep all the wiring in the car that runs to that that plug and just remove the wiring from the headlight harness but that would be great if that was the case.

The older models are def better for retrofitting headlights as the H1 or H7 (still don’t know wtf bulb it has) fog is beefy enough to use in a mini projector. Trying to put that wimpy *** 168/194 bulb in a mini projector is kinda wack. It’d be like a mock projector that just lights up.
